Hi, I'm Lisa.
I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, and lettering enthusiast with a soft spot for brands that have a personality of their own. I specialize in branding, packaging, hand lettering, and detailed illustration, and I love creating work that feels thoughtful, memorable, and maybe a little unexpected.
Over the years, I've worked with everyone from corporate marketing teams to small businesses and entrepreneurs. That mix has taught me how to balance the fun, creative side of design with the strategy behind it. Whether I'm starting with a pencil and sketchbook or jumping straight into something digital, my favorite part is taking an idea and figuring out how to bring it to life in a way that feels just right.
When I'm not designing, I'm usually chasing after my energetic four-year-old daughter while my dog, Oliver, and cat, Willow, supervise from a safe distance. I run on iced coffee, own more books and houseplants than any reasonable person needs, and usually have at least one DIY home project going that I probably convinced myself would be "quick and easy." You'll also frequently find me with my nose in a novel or, apparently, writing ridiculously long run-on sentences.
Why "Lisa Courtney Design"?
If you've noticed that my website says Lisa Courtney Design but I'm introducing myself as Lisa Griffin, there's a pretty simple explanation.
I started this business before I got married, when Courtney was still my last name. Eventually my name changed, but the business name never did.
And honestly, I've grown pretty attached to it.
Lisa Courtney Design reminds me of the version of myself who decided to take a chance, put herself out there, and build something from scratch. It feels like a little piece of where all of this started, and I like carrying that with me as the business continues to grow.
So while I go by Lisa Griffin these days, Lisa Courtney Design is here to stay.
It's so nice to meet you. Thanks for being here, and I hope we get the chance to create something really great together!
